Hair transplant for women with a high forehead

Thanks to the Moser Medical, you can regain full hair - even in the forehead area

Beautiful hair is every woman's dream. But nature doesn't always conjure up enough splendor on all parts of the head. If you have a high forehead, even the right hairstyle doesn't help: hair loss is a topic that concerns you deeply. In this case, many people look in the mirror and think, “What can I do against my high forehead?"

The loss of every single hair on the scalp is viewed with suspicion. The suffering increases the more the hairline recedes. Many women want to reduce their high forehead. Now the good news: a hair transplant is also possible for women with a high forehead!

What are the causes of hair loss in women?

In the course of their lives, women often come into contact with hair loss. This can be due to genetics or can occur as diffuse hair loss. With diffuse hair loss, the hair falls out evenly across the entire head; Hereditary hair loss affects the hair parting or the high forehead. The causes can also be hormonal - pregnancy, breastfeeding or menopause affect hair growth.

Hair loss is widespread

Hereditary alopecia is a common form of hair loss that can affect women as young as 20. In men, this form manifests itself as a receding hairline. In both sexes, the cause is an excess of male hormones - and the hair root cells react sensitively to these androgens. The hair follicles are therefore a small factory for your hormones.

Did you know that female sex hormones also protect against hair loss at the hairline? The enzyme aromatase protects women from this and causes the formation of estrogens. If the enzyme wears off, it affects the follicles and thus also the hairline.

Around 10% of hair loss patients are confronted with exactly this situation. For them, there is usually a very good chance of being able to solve the problem with the help of a hair transplant. With a hair transplant at Moser Medical, the high forehead can be reduced.

Every treatment is always preceded by a comprehensive consultation in which the right method for the hair transplant is discussed in detail.

How does a hair transplant work for a high forehead?

Many women ask themselves whether a high forehead can be operated on. If the forehead is too high, a hair transplant is possible. This can be carried out using two methods: the FUE-Technique and the FUT-Technique. FUE stands for follicular unit extraction and FUT for follicular unit transplantation. The two techniques are identical; however, the way the hair is removed is different: while the FUE method involves removing individual hairs including the roots and then transplanting the grafts, the FUT method involves transplanting an entire strip of hair. The hair surgeon always removes the donor hair from the back of the head, as the hair here is stronger and "programmed" for lifelong growth.

When correcting a high forehead using a hair transplant, doctors recommend the FUE technique, also because it can be carried out as the FUE Long Hair method - here the hair in the donor area does not have to be shortened. The Moser Medical specialists remove the hairs individually using a so-called HyRO instrument. This method of hair transplantation is very gentle on the skin and tissue; it guarantees the highest growth rate. The hair surgeons then prepare the recipient area with tiny openings and transplant the hair root units (follicular units) into the forehead area. The micro-scars appear in the form of small, pinpoint red spots and heal completely within a few days.

Frequently asked questions about hair transplantation

Is the hair transplant performed under anesthesia?

No, only local anesthesia is required for the procedure. Patients are responsive throughout the entire treatment and can, for example, listen to music on their iPod or eat and drink something during short breaks if they wish. Of course, trips to the toilet are also possible. Many patients report that they found the treatment to be just as relaxing as a more extensive visit to the hairdresser.

Do scars remain after a hair transplant?

No large scars remain; only point-shaped micro-scars on the back of the head.

The experts at Moser Medical carry out the hair transplant largely without scars. The F.U.E. technique in particular is minimally invasive - so very gentle on the skin and tissue.

The reason is the ultra-modern HyRO device, which has a very fine tip of only 0.8 to 0.9 mm. In contrast to classic FUE devices, this does not rotate on its own axis, but moves in a semicircular oscillation. At the end of the tip there is a rounded curve instead of sharp knives. The instrument penetrates less deeply into the skin when extracting the hair. HyRO thus minimizes the risk of damage to hair root units. Healing is promoted and the formation of small micro-scars is reduced.

How long does a hair transplant last? And how long does the hair stay?

The results of a hair transplant are permanent.

It is good to know that the hair root goes into a natural rest period after the hair transplant and the freshly transplanted donor hair falls out first. The hair roots that are taken from the donor area at the back of the head form new hair again. After that, the hair grows back and strong.

What is the best place to have a hair transplant?

It is advisable to have it done by experienced specialists or teams of doctors who are specialists in this area. There are always companies that offer hair transplants under the motto "health trip" (e.g. hair transplant Turkey). Such trips are often stressful, which can also have a negative impact on the healing process. We therefore recommend treatments in Germany or Austria. Moser Medical has been performing hair surgery successfully for 45 years.

Demanding medical treatments require experienced specialists. Specialists in aesthetic and plastic surgery and specially trained medical teams pay careful attention to the highest medical standards and have the know-how to carry out a hair transplant successfully. Moser Medical has performed over 35,000 treatments in this area.

You should consider the following criteria when making your choice:

  • Does the doctor specialize in hair transplants?
  • How many treatments has he performed?
  • Does the doctor offer care/monitoring after the treatment?
  • Get an idea of the clinic and the treatment rooms beforehand: How does the equipment look like? Is hygiene a priority?
How long does a hair transplant remain visible?

Many people want to know how long the traces of a hair transplant are visible. The experts at Moser Medical ensure that hair transplantation is almost scar-free, but the hair is shortened.

With the FUE technique, the hair on the back of the head is shaved to one millimeter; the partial shave can be easily transformed into a stylish hairstyle, especially for men. In the first few days after the FUE treatment, small, pinpoint micro-scars are visible. A groundbreaking method is the FUE Long Hair method, which means that shaving is not necessary at all.

With the FUT technique (strip method), the hair in the small area of the donor site is shortened to 3 millimeters, but the area is well covered by the rest of the hair and is therefore barely visible. Of course, it is possible that relatives and colleagues will notice the shaved area in the first few weeks after the treatment.

Does exiting hair need to be shaved prior to the hair transplant?

The need to shave the donor area (back of the head) is primarily determined by the extraction technique chosen. With the FUT technique (“strip method”), a narrow strip is removed from the hairline (extraction site) - only in this small area is the hair cut back to a length of approx. 3 mm. The rest of the hair is not affected. Your hair as a whole is completely unchanged after extraction using the strip technique, as the remaining hair covers this narrow line.

For FUE treatments (“individual hair extraction”), a complete shave of the back of the head is usually necessary, as this improves the quality of the extraction and prevents damage to the extracted hair root units. If desired, Moser Medical patients can also opt for the “partial shave” option. With the new Long-hair method, a hair transplant without shaving is possible.

When will I be able to socialize and work again?

From a medical point of view, you are able to socialize and work again just 24 hours later. However, we recommend that you take it easy for a few days. Many patients prefer to take the day before the treatment and one or two days off afterwards.

In sports, a rest period of around three weeks is required after a hair transplant. Depending on the size of the treated area and the length of the hair, no external signs of the treatment will be visible after just a few days.

When can you dye your hair after a hair transplant?

After the hair transplant, it is important to give your hair a rest period. The use of hair dyes and tints is only allowed 4 weeks after the treatment at the soonest.

As the transplant involves a redistribution of your own hair, its structure and growth are the same as that of the original hair. We recommend that you have your hair dyed by a hairdresser at first and look for more natural ingredients with fewer chemicals.

Wann das Haar im Stirnbereich wieder zu wachsen beginnt

What you should know is that the transplanted hairs almost always fall out at the beginning, as the hair roots enter a natural resting phase. A few weeks after the high forehead hair transplant, naturally growing hair is formed. The final result of the transplant is visible after 8 to 12 months. Your hair transplant at Moser Medical will last a lifetime. Scars reamin invisible.
